Otmar and Timo Horl wanted to develop a product that would make the grinding of kitchen knives possible for everyone. They had the principle that "sharp knives should be as natural in the kitchen as good regional ingredients".

Following this principle, the Horl innovation workshop developed the roller grinder in 1993 to meet both everyday demands and the extremely high demands of kitchen professionals - with enormous success so far. A tool that can really be used by everyone and that also visually meets the expectations of design.

Otmar and Timo Horl attach great importance to the fact that the roller grinder, from the turner to the lathe operator to the carpenter, is made entirely in their own Black Forest region. They guarantee the quality that the product has stood for since the end of 2016. The knife is held on the grinding jig by the two neodymium magnets and is automatically positioned perfectly at a 15-degree angle to the table top. The diamond sharpening side of the roll grinder processes the cutting edge gently and precisely, guaranteeing the optimum combination of stability and sharpness. The grooved stainless steel honing side removes the burr and smoothes the cutting edge.
