As German speakers, we often think "English - easy peasy". The words are short, there are no genders and conjugation is rarely used. But when it comes to the nitty-gritty, i.e. the literal, even the world language has its pitfalls. Especially when you translate idioms and proverbs one-to-one and end up with something completely different from what you actually wanted to say. You may be linguistically wrong, but humorously right on the money. Laughs are guaranteed!
